CIRCULO RECTANGULO TRIANGULO CUADRADO.
This is a giant replica of Man Ray's "Indestructible Object". The original piece was a readymade named "Object to Be Destroyed ", created in 1923, and it was made of a 26cm high metronome with an eye attached to the pendulum. In 1932, Lee Miller, lover of the artist, left him; then, Ray replaced the anonymous eye with hers and changed the name of the object to "Object of Destruction".
In 1957, a group of students destroyed the object at the Exhibition Dada, in Paris. Then, the artist used the resulting insurance pay-out to create an edition of 100 multiples, entitled "Indestructible Object". As the name suggests, it would be very difficult to destroy all hundred, and it is also a reference to the indestructible nature of the original idea.
